Monkey Face

Since it was mid-week we decided to get on monkey face because of the low crowds. Scott led the first two pitches linking them up and finishing it up on a nice ledge. I then led the A1 pitch. Since there was 3 of us, I decided to use twin ropes which is fine for the first person, but the 2nd \3rd can't use ascenders on the rope because they are too small. They ended up having to aid the pitch also. First time aiding for Scott and Michelle. The 3rd pitch which Michelle led was a very airy 5.7 pitch. Instead of going straight up she followed a bolt line that went basically to the summit. This was Michelle's 2nd lead climb ever and while trying to find out how she was doing I got a cursing 'I hate you' comment back for making her lead the pitch. She ended up doing fine and had a great view from the summit. We ended up doing a 200 foot rappell from the summit to our packs. Since it was overhanging, we had an airy rappell away from the rock.
